New Line: Loog Guitars—this is a line we’re pitching to musical instrument dealers, but it has crossover appeal in other retail categories like toys, hobby shops, gift retailers, boutiques and more. Loog Guitars (see this line list and price sheet: Loog_ProductLine-Pricing-2015.pdf ) challenge the notion that a new guitar student (child or adult) has to start on 6 strings…especially since so many legends started on homemade instruments that had as few as 1 string…Well the Loog uses 3—the three higher tuned strings on a standard guitar, so that learning chords is more accommodating. These attractive, quality built guitars come in kit form and assemble using simple tools in about 15-30 minutes. There are 10 models—3 acoustic and 7 electric, plus accessories like stands, gig bags and more. Minimum starting order is 6 guitars (a bit less than $500) but NO minimum on reorders. Learn on a Loog, and moving up to a 6 string is much easier. |

But…if you think the player will discard the
Loog when they graduate to a full-sized instrument, I have only to point out Keith Richards, whose most memorable licks have come on 5-string guitars…and he was using only some of the strings on those!
